Dr. David R Hawkins M.D., Ph.D., The Book "Transcending The Levels of Consciousness". A section of the book , all About Fears and How to Transcend its impact on daily life. Ever since I read this and utilized "And Then What" process from smallest worrisome matters to bigger issues at hand.....and found it is truely the only shortest way to simplify aimless pondering and to be out of suspended gnawing nagging feelings.
I hear so often a blunt statement "Forget About It" But The Truth is you can't forget about an issue or a worry like dumping out a bucket of water. Like the Jack-in-the-box the fears and worries are constantly trying to push its head out of the box. "And Then What?" Process makes dear Old Jack to put into perpetual sleep.

The Piano Music: It is the Famous piece of Franz Liszt (1811-1886) "La Campanella" (The Little Bell)/Etude no. 3, G sharp minor (after Paganini).
I don't know why but, this piece gives me such a different impression now than when I heard as a young girl. It used gave me a joyful spiritedness. Now it makes me feel into an alarming and impending warning feelings....Strange?.....

  • Somehow this technique does not seem to apply so well to phobias and PTSD. I find I'm terrified of flying insects while indoors but not much when outdoors or surrounded by animals. Nor do I think repeating "and then what" to veterans experiencing panic disorders from hearing a blown out tire work. Some of them are committing suicide to escape the fear reaction. I'd be interested in knowing if Dr. Hawkins addressed this type of fear in his books or lectures?

  • @lessdone Hi, Thanks for your comment and question.

I do remember from either from Dr Hawkins workshop or dvd/cd/books....that Dr Hawkins himself suffered many phobias. He was afraid of height and prefered not to travel by flying. He also had phobia of snakes and horses.

But my sugestion would be if you could delve into his books rather than instant answer/direction...but during the process of reading and understanding his teaching you will gain 100 fold more strong answers & confirmation.

  • @lessdone continued...it is like to see a beautiful rosebud ... but to understand how the rosebud to came about as roots, stem and bushes. There is a clip on this YouTube by NYChookmeup of Dr Hawkins Worries & Sufferings that might give you an insight. The way of it is you really deeply plunge into the subject fear and relinquish to the power greater than yourself with pledged spitual Will.

I learned how to swim late mid 30s due to my drowing experince at age 12.The will sink or swim w/God.

  • To me this is not complete, something is missing. Or if I use this line of thought: So I die, and then what?

To me, fear is an emotion telling me that I have an definition or a belifsystem that is seperating, fragmenting, isolating, I guess that can be termed negative. Rather than joining, making whole witch maybe can be termed positive.

In this way, fear can be used in an exiting way, as an adventure into self exploration and understanding. Not as something to get rid of or feared.

  • @Razzputinone Thanks for your comment/input.

What I have presented here is only a branch out of whole tree in Dr Hawkins teachings of the Fear. If you would please!, do explore his books.

    As you mentioned...

Dr Hawkins also says that the fear could be used as base board to spiritual will exploration.

    clam+claim

  • @LaMarAzura In that case, I might just do that.. Thank you.

  • @jdw211 Hi, Thanks for your comment.

When you could shed and free from the fear of being judged by other's eyes or their levels of consciousness...... but the shame is out of your own Ego(higher Self) consciousness....the peace and the improvement could be yours to clam.

  • "and then I'll become homeless." And then "I will be judged as worthless." And then "I will condemn myself." It would appear then that not only death, but also shame is the most frightening and lowest state one succumbs to. In shame, one often prays for death to take him to relieve sufferering. It seems shame is the ego's way of 'hiding out' before it embodies pride and judges another. And the cycle starts over again.
