this routine never ceases to amaze me when i watch it. the control she displays is just so, for the lack of a better word, incredible.

Learn how to judge.
An amanar is a 2.5 twisting yurchenko. If you only (if even) complete 2.25 you did not do an amanar; therefore, you get downgraded to a DTY.
The judges wanted to avoid a controversy, which would have clearly emerged.

@Gr33nkiwi Well she got credit for it, so clearly the judges thought she performed an Amanar. Get over it.

I may not be a math major, but I'm pretty sure 2.25 =/= 2.5 ;)

@Gr33nkiwi Ummmmmm...she definitely did...that's why she scored a 15.875. And I don't know of any other vaults that she could do that would score that high.

An Amanar is a 2.5 twisting Yurchenko. Shawn Johnson did not perform this in the Olympic AA.
