The video is self-explanatory. This is a cut of an interview with the economist Milton Friedman, which answers a question about what rich people do with the profits they maliciously obtained from the poor citizens of our great nation.

  • @xcvsdxvsx If that's the case, then I consider you to be immoral if you think you are justified in initiating in violence against you fellow man for your own personal benefit.

If you would not like it happening to you, you should not do it to others. I will never initiate violence against anyone, for any reason. I will only defend.

  • @voogru im not sure what i would do if you needed it to save your own son, it may alter my decision and it may not. As for the conflicting morality, it is but, its beyond my control, im genetically programmed to do what is necessary to protect my offspring. With that being said i recognize the societal benefits of private property. another-words i wouldnt hold any grudge towards you at all if you killed me in defense of your property but i may still try to take it.

  • @kmelfina I'm not sure you are aware of this, but people working for a business that get a salary, get paid whether or not the business makes any money.

If employees are willing to go without paychecks every time the corporation doesn't make any money (which may be years), then when the corporation does have massive profits they can have nice pay.

It's the classic risk vs reward. People want lower risk when it comes to their employment, that means the reward will be less.

    > Human Beings with hopes and dreams no less important than mine or yours.

    >Stepping Stones

;-) I hope you remember this when you are the stepping stone.

  • @voogru I'm also attached to emotional heart strings that i want to break away from. "Those corporations make windfall profits to sponsor their luxurious lifestyle which is sapped from the pay of the working class. Pay the laborers more in exchange of excess unnecessary profit!". I understand most free market ideas (capital = invest in business to grow; wages are only based on production value) but there are some adjustments that need tweaking.

  • @xcvsdxvsx You respect my right to defend my property, but you won't respect my private property rights?

    You have conflicting moralities.

What if I am using my resources in order to save my own son? Why should I be denied that?

  • @xcvsdxvsx Let me put it another way that will no doubt be offensive to you. Say you have wife has a body part that I need, or I will die.

Am I morally justified to murder your wife against her will, so that I can take her body part so I can live?

NO. NEVER. NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

  • @voogru its one of those odd situations where i would respect your right to defend your property but nothing would stop me from doing anything in my power to save my child, we would just have to have a good old fashion wild west showdown.

  • @xcvsdxvsx Yes, it is immoral and it would be within my moral authority to defend myself from your acts of aggression. Chances are if you tried to do such a thing I would respond with deadly force.

The circumstances of your aggression are completely irrelevant.

    Thou shalt not steal.

Thou shalt not covet any thing that is thy neighbour's.

  • @voogru Just for the sake of thought experiment lets say my child was terminally ill with out a medacine that grew only on your property and you had no interest in selling it, would it be immoral for me to use a gun to take this property? i think many lefties see society in a similar light and if this was a realistic view of how society functioned i might support violent redistribution as well.
