i believe the end meant that while george w. bush wanted so desperately to be a hero and save the day (catch the fly ball), he never got the chance because he was so far off base, he couldn't even find the ball - it wasn't there. Sad stuff...

Ok I'm back and I saw W yesterday! That movie was so long and had a lot of slow parts. Tha editing was weird too because most of tha flashbacks were at tha beginning instead of being spread out through tha movie. When I left tha theater I was just kinda speechless. It wasn't really funny like I thought it would be, but looking back at it I really like that movie! It just took a little while to let it sink in. What was with tha ending though? It must have been some metaphor but I didn't get it.

Glad you came back to give your review! I had the same feeeling about the movie as you. IMHO, the ending meant that Bush wanted so much to catch the fly ball and save the day, but he couldn't even find it - it just disappeared on him... Kinda sad, actually.

While this film was certainly not a love letter to W., it wasn't all chalked full of negativity either. This movie is more or less a hollywood portrayal of a man who has been the leader of a nation during a very difficult period in history. Some of his decisions were in fact sound and wise, while others remain questionable to this day. However, unlike some who detest W., I respect Bush's ability to make decisions that he knew might cost him popularity.

Im a bush fan and I feel it was sortta fair it didn't say anything about all the leftys voting for iraq and all the actors are liberals but I read bushs book and it was similar but it was a slanted view now that I think about it and there will never be a bad movie bout. Obama cuz nobody has the balls. Obama has done to distroy this coutry in 3 years then bush did in eight. And obama made a million mistakes on tv but the mainstream media wont show that.

When President Bush was re-elected, he received more votes then ANY President in history at that time. A double victory, overthrowing both the Taliban regime and defeating Saddam Hussein's totalitarian Baathist regime. And then, victory at the ballot box also. In the movie he would catch the ball people were cheering and at the end he couldnt catch the ball and nobody was cheering like the end of his presidency... People loved him and it slowly went away with the end of his presidency being almost everyone hated him... thats what the ending met...
