Perhaps, but there have been cases when runaway freight cars -- each weighing 40+ tons -- did not set off crossing signals. That's a question for the signal experts I guess.

Thanks for the response Ed. I've just been looking for a Good sounding horn like the Burnett M5's
-
It doesnt take much to set off a signal system. A simple piece of copper bar between the rails, with your average human weight(about 150-160ibs) could set off a crossing, if i am correct. A Little Whitcomb like that, still weighs a good 20 tons

Agreed. Very nice "fitting" horn for a small critter.

My pa used to say "you sure make alot of raquet for such a little rascal"......LOL
-
I'm surprised that little Whitcomb was even big enough or heavy enough to set off the crossing signals!
Ed, sorry for the Bothersome Questions, but how is a Burnett M5 tuned to compare to a Nathan M5?

I really don't know for sure, its not the usual C#, E, G, A, C#. One of these days I'll analize it.

Ed, what exact Horn does that little Critter have?
Thanks.

Any horn they hang on it. That day it had my Burnett M-5 on it as I posted before.
