@fireman62truck loud means nothing, Harley's are loud but does that mean they have power? no they're slow even for bikes, the exhaust size is very important for power, small to keep exhaust velocity up but big enough to flow enough air, 2.25" is a good size for stock 302HO and PI 4.6 motors for torque and power, Panthers and T-Birds need low end torque since they're heavy, plus straight pipes sound like ass
what is the diameter for the stock t bird pipes? i want to just cut off the stock mufflers and put glasspacks there but i need to know what the diameter is.

nope bigger still better my frend dans 1997 tbird with P. I engine from 2004 mustang gt had strate pipes 4 inch wide loudest tbird you will hear

A 4.6 doesn't move that much air. Even a 5.0 should only have 2.25" pipes if stock or mildly mofified.
