After 13 years, Eurostar leaves Waterloo to start services from St Pancras...

  • The line they now run on is a dedicated line built for high speed, meaning they can run much faster than if they ran on the old route, the huge problem with high speed rail in Britain is that we run high and low speed services on the same rails, so often delays are caused by clashes between the 2, unlike in Japan and France.

  • ashford international is closer to waterloo though, and if they leave from st pancras they have to make a U turn

  • Put simply, SPEED... Journeys from St Pancras are a lot quicker than journeys from Waterloo.

    Also the former International Station will eventually be used by domestic services, as the platforms are desperately needed by SWT.

  • It Is Better Than St Pancras.

  • Why Bother Closing Waterloo
