I got a request in my last video and decided to record this really quick. This is how I shampoo my brushes. There are many different techniques, this is just mine.

Sidenote: When I wash lip brushes, eyeliner brushes, or brushes with thick emollient products in them, I usually use dish soap. It cuts through thick greasy products and kills bacteria.

  • do your brushes get dry from this method?

  • @Ellie1098 as in do they get a dry rough texture to them? no.

  • What do you think about putting a small amount of conditioner on your brushes after you wash them? I recently read that it helps keep them soft, so I gave it a try.

  • @queend1985 yeah, that or olive oil is good to condition them.

  • Omg I love alll ur videos!!!!

I've setting here watching them alll :)

u have great hair and skin btw!

  • This is the exact way I clean my brushes!

  • just a little tip...when you lay them on the side the water can still get to the glue...and when washing the brushes with the shampoo the detergent in the shampoo can strip the hairs...using extra-virgin olive oil will help keep the richness in the hairs.

  • I made a channel just so I could describe to your videos-3 I love them!

  • you have lots of brushes im so jealous!

thank you for the tutorial, you're great

  • This really helped. i was using clarifying shampoo or dish soap. I also use M.A.C.'s brush cleaner. I've even used a face wash that has makeup remover in it to wash brushes with stubborn and waterproof makeup.

  • Great, because I wasn't sure if I was doing more damage than good on my brushes. I think i'll try the olive oil today.

  • In reference to you saying you usually leave the water running I don't think that is a good idea. More people need to be appreciate of our earth LIMITED NATURAL resources. If the water is running & not being used it's better the faucet is off. I love your vids though. Just wanted to educate a little on that since you educate me on makeup :)
