OK, the murdernization is done. Well one elevator is ready while the other is now undergoing the operation (as you will see).

The original videos for this elevator are:
Westinghouse Traction Elevators at Comfort Inn

And

Westinghouse Elevators@The Comfort Inn (Shortened Version)

I do a recap of the original elevator in this video.

  • this elevator is nothing but a pure piece of Shit. Sorry for the strong words but this elevator was ruined to the point where it ought to be a CRIME!! westy's are becoming increasingly rare..

  • @dieselducy Damn Diesel, was that you. Let me get an ID check:

What do you like to show to introduce your elevator videos?

    Complete this phrase "There's my scooter __ __ __ ___ ___ ___ ____ ____ ___ __ __!"

But yes, they ruined that elevator!!!! So much, evidently that it made you use the S word. HaHa.

  • Is this the Comfort Inn in St. Louis?

  • @LittleRockElevators No, this one is in Denver.

  • I have a video of a Westinghouse Selectomatic like that one that has never been modernized. Watch elevator Metro Tower Lubbock, TX. And im going there again!!!! :) :) I hope they aren't modernized.

  • @elevatortimes Yes, those elevators are very nice and I hope they are not modernized, they look like they were well taken care of. These elevators saw modernization within the last 6 months. I have the pre-modernized versions on video as well and they were somewhat similar to the ones you filmed.

  • By the way, I also think Schindler is doing the modernizations.

  • Both the old and new elevators are nice, but I certainly love the Westinghouse Selectomatics a lot more. If they were to do this, they should keep the original cab, the original fixtures on one side, put the new fixtures on the opposite side, and combine the new controller with the original Selectomatic. That's modernization without completely ruining the original design.

  • YAY! They replaced the lobby floor counters with "ACME" floor counters.

At least they didn't do that inside.

Still, it's sad to look at.

  • Who modernized that elevators?
