This project is based around a Flashing RGB LED. The LED can be purchased here.

This is a simple project to get your feet wet with a simple electronic project that can provide an interesting light show thanks to the electronics built into the RGB LED.

RGB means Red, Green Blue

  • What is the rating on the resistor??

  • @azsunman

Click on the second link in the video description. It has the value and a link to the resistor.

  • instead of a 9 volt you can use a 3 volt without the resistor and it is much easier

  • @TheTommer777

    That should work fine.

  • Man, soldering is so much easier, faster and more reliable than this crimp crap…

  • have you ever heard of solder before? why would you wanna use those crimp things?

    470 ohm Resistor

  • @taterofthecouch Have you ever seen a 10 year old work a soldering iron? yeah, thats why, this is simple enough to start teaching young kids how to work with electronics.

  • I'm guessing there's a microcontroller embedded within the LED itself?

  • That's a really good video. I've seen prewired ones on ebay with small resistors already included under the heat shrink. As for those asking about crimp vs. solder. This video is meant to be for complete newbies and I think they're going to find crimping cheaper (just use a pair of home pliers) and easier than soldering!

  • can you control what color the LED lights? btw, use a breadboard or soider instead of those crimps, how the hell u gonna get them off

  • can i sak you something? if i conect like 10 of this in pararel to the same battery, they will react equal? i mean, they will change color at the same time to the same color?

  • @chilidress or you can use a dimmer or something similar that changes the voltage so it varies the color ;)
