Ok, I regress, it looks like she took a few punches to head.. and then the warning was given. Satoko was still beat, and it wasn't as if she was stumbling around the ring after that incoherently.

Those head strikes looked unintentional. Satoko took a kick to the face too when she was constantly dropping to the mat for takedowns. A warning was issued for that kick as well and I can't see how it would be considered the striker's fault. Satoko was beat, plain and simple. With even the slightest variation in the rules, she would have been knocked unconscious within the first round.

After watching the fight I don't see any head strikes early on. It looks like Ichii is mostly punching to the chest. About a minute after Round 2 started, however, it looks like she may punch her in the head a few times but it's difficult to see. Afterwards, Satoko is rubbing her jaw and looks unsteady thereafter.
It really looks like Ichii earned this one, unless there were other head punches that I missed. I'd like to read the appeal.

Agreed.....the Mai Ichii simply punched wildly and used her size and strength to get out of Satoko's holds.
