Man this is one of the most depressing scene in a video game from my childhood, I thought I oughtta share it with you all. Hope things don't turn out this way for the lot of you lol. Umm for people who have never played the game, just for your information, Rand's mother Daisy was always hard on him and yelling at him, so it makes it a bit more touching that she finally tells him that he's a good boy

  • This is one of the reasons why Breath of fire is held up there by most RPG fans: it's storyline was unique, dramatic and very powerful. You got involved with the characters... before this scene, Ray, a paladin who had helped us during our journeys, had to battle with us and got defeated...

Then, after you get to the bottom of the church, you face your father, Ganer, and you can choose whether to save him or not. If you don't save him, the scene you get is as dramatic as this one...

  • Truly sad & nostalgic.

  • I remember that kind of games back that years...

You even cried in LOTS of scenes like this one

now most of today's game aren't like this :\

  • @maxletos Don't forget that Ray fought Ryu expecting to be killed by him, because he knew the only way to awaken Ryu's Kaiser form (aka G.Dragon) was to be attacked by a similar power. And no less important, remember how you got to the church on the first place (Mina ._.).

  • This scene makes me cry manly tears every time.

  • Holy fucking shit she just got crushed ....

That's some closed casket shit right there, you din;t to see that happen to anybody.

  • I don't get it. Isn't there some space between the left wall and that huge block? Why did he need to hold this partocular part?

  • If this was made in 2011 it would be about a 20 minute cutscene in full CGI with an angsty overtone.

  • wow... this really is sad. i almost cried, but not yet. :)
