The FDA says the DEA restricted the annual production of Adderall, brand name and generic. The DEA blames the shortage on the drug companies trying to steer their customers to more expensive brand name meds like Vyvanse, Adderall XR, Focalin XR, Daytrana, Concerta. I believe the medication is often misused, abused and overprescribed in some sectors of society. But the FDA, DEA and the pharmaceutical companies need to come clean and explain what the problem is. Patients who need this medicine can't get it. The situation is making innocent patients suffer, and places a ridiculous burden on pharmacists and doctors.
