not really, people who grow, know this costs too much just to even grow young seedlings. One can make a simple grow habitat with rubbermaid buckets, a hd fluorescent fish tank light, some heat, a special bit of fertilizer for young seedlings, carbin dioxide, a small fan to move air all for under 100 bucks.

did the same but spending US$200 in materials and an additional US$20 in my power/light bill a month.
I havent bought tomatoes, coriander, albacar, mentha, ciboulette and of course the good herb since March 2011.
