Cunard's QE2 and QM2 at sea in Tandem Transatlantic Sailing - 16th to 22nd October 2008

We have left New York and we are now at sea. The crossing was magnificent. Queen Elizabeth II swapped from Portside to Starboard each day until the final evening when, after a very emotional Horn Salute and address from Commodore Warner, she eased back to follow Queen Mary II into Southampton. It was an amazing historical journey and one that I will treasure in my memory forever.

Wonderful! Brought a tear to my eye!

I know that QM2's whistles were matched with an original from the first Queen Mary but am I unusual in believing that QE2's whistle is(was!) far the better? The pitch was just right and that sound.......went right through you, to carry for miles. Beautiful!

It was so beautifel if the RMS Olympic, Britannic and Titanic were sailing with her sisters to South Hampton!
