It wasn't until 1997 that I was "introduced" to "other" Brazilian music. I knew about Samba and Bossa Nova, but didn't pay it much attention. It was Marisa Monte who "introduced" me to Brazilian music during an interview she was having on National Public Radio. I was captivated, and, because of her music, found so many other artists. It was in January that I finally made up my mind to learn Portuguese.
@schnertblatt I couldnt agree more! Some really beautiful songs have came out of Brasil. Bossa Nova got me listening to all the genres of Brasilian music I can get my hands on or ears to for that matter. Muito Bom!
I could not agree with you more. This is an ABSOLUTELY beautiful song, and I can't wait to learn Portuguese. I've loved this type of music my entire life, and only a few years ago, I found out that my great-great paternal grandmother was Portuguese! I think there is a connection :-)
It's hard to believe that just when I thought I'd heard what to me was the most beautiful song from Brazil, I hear this one. It's music like this that has prompted me to learn how to speak Portuguese. I hope to one day soon compose my comments to this and other beautiful Brazilian music in Portutuese. To bringonthenight1: MUITO OBRIGADO!
I love Brazilian music! When I listen to this music I feel like on never-ending holidays:)
