  • as a colombian who has seen racism in colombia with black colombian family members and who talks to other latinos who are of all colors i find this misleading as if our community is painting a false picture.they are trying to implement their imperialistic ideal of seperating from "whitey" into our culture when so many families are mixed and love each other dearly.

  • u do know their was slavery way before the spanish came; there was a movie base on this

  • @BoiToy08 thank you! they are black, just happen to speakspanish! they dont get that!

  • how can afro-latinos come to america and say they're not black, just because you speak another language doesn't mean you're not black in america, you could make that claim in your latin american country but in america you're black.......if an african american leaned to speak fluent spanish does that make them afrolatino in america or still african american? cultures don't change blood roots

  • afro latinos and african americans have different cultures.

  • I'm African American and really I was surprised because u rarely hear about Afro Latinos but when I found out about this I got more interested and intrigued because now it's more things I can learn about black history in other parts of the world.

  • @yssapi

I assume you are responding to the wrong person. I'm Puerto Rican. And cultural "differences" are mostly imagined. That seems to be a human flaw. Salsa has African-American influence via jazz, while hip hop has Caribbean and Latin influence, so........ There is a lot of misinformation about African culture, but it goes both ways.

  • @LaMariposaSedosa The reason why so many afro latinos do not relate to African American is because of our cultural differences, and how everything "black" must be African American!! I got my salsa and Merengue, you have your hip hop and crunk...let's keep it that way....

  • @bigboize WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? AFRICAN AMERICANS ALWAYS TALKS ABOUT HOW PROUD THEY ARE OF THEIR AFRICAN HERITAGE, BUT WHERE IS IT? IN HIP HOP, IN FRIEND CHICKEN, GO TO AFRICAN AND LOOK FOR THE SIMILARITIES....

  • @bethabest1 I LIKE THIS
