Have a look at this little beauty I picked up . I reckon its mid twenties , as the cabinet is very similar to Rexonla , where the cabinets for gramophones where made in Sydney. I have about three or four of these models, where the front legs are the same, and the dimensions are the same. The machine works on a Threepence , and bare in mind back then they where made of Stirling silver. The money collection tin, is basically the size of a brick , so just imagine , the weight , and the value of silver of what it would be worth just for the silver alone. I did some research , and asked around about the cabinet , if would have been just in shellac from the factory or would it have been painted from new. We are of the opinion , it would have painted , as colour would have been the theme for fun parks , penny arcades , side shows etc. Plus the owner , should someone scratch their name on it , write on it, they could just paint over the mark etc. The motor , is a wind up, where there is stereo type black and white photos of NUDY ladies , where there got the hairy arm pits , big arses , tight rolled short hair etc. The crank handle , was seized , where it looked it had been out in a paddock since the 20s , where it is spring loaded , where the watcher, cant break the gramophone spring, where the pin , helps compress , and disengage . There was 18 hours just in buffing all the brass , and copper. New brass screws / bullet head screws /washers where also buffed, which replaced the non original screws. The motor I tinkered around with , with still some minor adjustments. Overall it is in great shape , and I should have taken a before shot.

Its about a metre high x .60 x .40 . The locks where seized , so that was a exercise , found some keys. I had the motor in and out a few times.

  • @alman53 Hi Alman , Yes you are right !!! on your comment. Cheers Pete. Hope you liked the machine

  • 1900s not 1900's

  • These images weren't considered "pornographic" back then- they were "racy", and definitely NOT for children {"No, no, Billy, this is something that DADDY is interested in seeing. Why don't you watch the one over there with the cowboys and indians?"/"I wanna see YOURS!"/"Martha, will you take the child away before I belt him one??"}.

  • Hi Resident , Yes these machines where back in those days . they where common just as much as the mobile phone today. they where everywhere . these machines also could display various photos of interest , places to see , people , building s etc. Thanks for watching my video Cheers Pete

  • Was this an early form of pornographic entertainment in the 1900s?
