Please visit http://www.bobbywatch.com/ for more information! On February 21, 2007, Bobby was the deciding vote to impose an unfair, regressive income tax on the people just three months after they'd voted it down. After it took angry voters only one day to collect over 6,000 signatures for a referendum, Bobby should have changed his mind. But what did he do instead? Cast the deciding vote to put the tax on the next ballot, at cost to the taxpayers of over $40,000. The tax went down in flames, with 71% voting NO.
Watch this video of the February 21, 2008 Board meeting, where Commissioners Sorenson and Fleenor made eloquent pleas to respect the will of the people. Instead of taking these concerns seriously, Bobby replied that the only way he would do that is if Sorenson agreed to be laid off. Of course, commissioners can't be laid off, since their positions are required by law to be filled...so Bobby's "proposal" was never serious. Way to be an empty suit, Bobby!
