  • Thank you for posting this series. I have never seen it in its entirety before, I really enjoyed it and I now consider it one of the great TV series ever made. Compelling viewing.

  • The dialect is called: "Hunsrücker Plattdeutsch" ( Nethergerman of the Hunsrück-region). Each little village has it´s own variation of it, so you can hear where someone is at home...this villiage or the other or that one, called "Schabbach". That´s meant with "Heimat" (Homeland).

  • an aristotle-- Wir haben diesen Film 2008 als Grundlage für ein Studium benützt. Wegen dieses Dialekts fällt der Professorin sofort ein, dass wir in der vierten Klasse immer noch Untertitel brauchen! Viel Erfolg beim Studium!

  • I noticed the Niederdeutsch/dialect which is very interesting for a lerner of German such as I.

  • For a better understanding.

    At 6:50 Antonia says:

'Wiegand's bought a motorbike. He paid it with a sack of potatoes' is the correct words.

'Grumbeere' is an idiom for 'Kartoffel' in that part of Germany. Has nothing to with berries. ;)

  • About time :-)

  • Many thanks for uploading with English subtitles, love from Germany. Subbed + invited !

  • dankeeeeeeeeee! :)))

  • Wie schön. Ich danke dir vom ganzen Herzen.
