Paul Schaeffer reminds me of the kid at every band practice that shows up with his guitar covered in stickers that his parents bought him....he's been up all night researching how to rock hard and just flat out.....is an embarrassment. Thank God Warren is only rivaled by Tom Waits and Bob Dylan or else this video might not have been incredibly inspiring
Paul Schaeffer could fuck up a two car funeral. He does this ...voguing to the camera and trying to fool the world with his nasal tones and whiney voice... every time someone appears on Letterman. I don't watch Letterman anymore for this clown's antics alone. At least he didn't ruin a brilliance performance by a dying icon. When it comes to Schaeffer's voice. ..never have the deaf been so lucky.
Great guy, great talent, great music. Letterman was on the money when he championed Zevon, and his show with just Warren, towards the end of his life, was one of TV's best. It honestly should go into the "All-time best of" archives, if they exist. Letterman shows, on that show, his real talent at person-to-person interactions. He is in a class by himself, there, when he applies himself.
Warren Zevon, wow. I watched this live when I was in high school, it was a great performance then and now. It must suck to know your time is running out. I couldn't have done it.
