Wow. Good thing you typed entirely in capital letters, otherwise you'd sound crazy. Kelly had a years-long working relationship with Regis. They developed a rapport where she could jokingly put her hand on his mouth. Clay did not develop that kind of rapport with Kelly Ripa. Also, in the segments leading up to that moment Clay made several snide comments toward Kelly, and it was awkward. Sorry, he was rude and there was nothing homophobic about what she said. Rosie was being ridiculous.

I wouldn't want Clay's hand over my mouth either, but I was watching that show live and when Kelly made that comment that was the first thing I thought too. Kelly is quick witted and when Clay did that, I thought she was making a dig at him.

Now I don't think it was a homophobic comment in the sense that she was putting down his sexual orientation. I think Rosie could have chosen her words a bit more carefully. I just thought she wanted to quickly put him back in his place, and she did!
