VMDirectPath will allow a virtual machine to connect directly to a physical device like a 10 Gbit Ethernet NIC. Intel VT-d technology provides address translation and protection. • Does this only work with NIC:s? I have an old PCI-card that only supports WinXP 32bit, could it be adresses the same way as this, via VMware?

  • Awesome! That's what I've been waiting for since virtualization become mainstream technology.

I have several pieces of legacy hardware (some frame grabbers, tv-tuners, etc) which have drivers only for obsolete Windows OS-es and I'm a Linux guy. ;) This seams as a perfect solution. :)
