Bellydance: Poi Fusion 2004

This would be my first attempt at fusing poi with bellydance and I dragged my troupe into it with me, muaaahahaha! It's pretty basic, but it was a fun first draft. The poi used here is hand dyed cotton gauze with wooden and metal weights sewn into the ends. each "set" is actually one long piece with the weights at the ends. We wound them around us and tied them on.

I've ALWAYS wanted to try this bellydance with poi, its just a matter of training your body to layer things. AWESOME JOB! Keep going! I want to see more of your videos please!

I'm glad to see someone else was interested in this. I've always liked the idea myself. Now, i do have a bit of a suggestion for you though: when you move on to fire poi...you might want to switch to wearing Harem pants X3 so you don't catch your skirt on fire...yes...it can be done...>.o trust me lol

that was awsome! Even the way you integrated the gauze in with the costumes! So it was more like the poi was part of them!
