Cajon HS Marching Band at state championships at San Gorgonio HS. Saturday, November 22, 2008. We got 4th out of 6th place with this show. We had to cut 7 performers from the band to perform in 1A division, and I was one of the people to be cut so I helped bring in the backdrops and took videos. Our teacher would rather have two experienced snare drummers out there than having one experienced snare drummer and one rookie snare drummer. There was also one crash cympal, two clarinets, and I forgot who else got cut. We had 46 performers and we needed 39. If we had more than 39 we would've been docked over 100 points from our overall score. Our drumline got 2nd place and I forgot what place the color guard got. I'll put it on when I find out.
"La Nouba/Cirque du Soleil." A famous French circus show music. The songs are:
1: Distorted by Benoit Jutras. Arranged by Jay Dawson. Percussion by Brian S. Mason.
2. Rêve Rouge Benoit Jutras. Arranged by Jay Dawson. Percussion by Brian S. Mason.
3. Benoit Jutras. Arranged by Jay Dawson. Percussion by Brian S. Mason.

  • You guys are a pretty small band. Thats a good thing. I march snare as well in the Texas City HS a BOA competitor. Are you guys in BOA?

  • @ThePrestige2000 we normally do scja (southern california something or another...). sometimes we do scsboa depending on how well we do earlier in the season. that year we did just scja. last year (one year after the video) we did one boa comp, and we epicly failed. this year our director doesn't think the students are focused or disciplined enough to do anything anymore and has been threatening to shut down the marching program more than ever before :(

  • you guys took it waaaaay slow shoulda been at least 160

  • actually Distorted is only supposed 2 be 144 bpm. Revé Rouge is about 90 i think or 100 somewhere around there and A La Lune is somewhere around 130. our director didnt let us do the last song (percussion feature which the name escapes me) because no1 else besides me had memorized it. lol

  • the last song is urban and its ok distorted as the best feature in the show. but yeah a championships don lugo took it a about 160 it sonded alot better and thrilling that wy but still nice job

  • aight thanx
