Lesson 7: The Alphabet

These are REAL lessons. No actors. No scripts. A real learning experience. Do you know a friend or family member who needs to learn English? Tell them they can learn along with Natasha as I teach her the basics of the English language.

I will not be posting captions (subtitles) on these early lessons. I want beginners to develop their listening skills. I will write all important information on the board.
Happy Studies to all!

  • Jennifer: Thank you for your good work. I have added many of your videos to my channel, which features useful lessons by English teachers. I refer students of English, especially ESL and EFL students, to my channel, and I would like you to know how greatly I appreciate all your efforts to teach clearly and simply. Your series with Natasha is a boon for all beginners. Press on with your teaching. Many are being helped.

  • @Flawhound

Thank you for the encouragement. This format is different and a bit of a risk. In an age of impressive technology, we decided on an old school approach: teacher, student, and a chalkboard. We'll likely vary the setting a bit as we go on, but sometimes a simple, natural delivery makes the most sense. I really do hope others will be inspired by Natasha's efforts and start learning English with her. :)

    HELLO JEN... HOW'VE YOU BEEN?

    I ALWAYS ENJOYS YOUR CLASSES...

    THEY'RE QUITE DITATICS AND USEFULL

    TO SPOKEN ENGLISH. HUGS!

  • @mtc1982mtc

This series is below you're level, but I'm glad you're following Natasha's progress. In another month or so the content will start to be a good review for more advanced students who still make small mistakes in their spoken and written speech. :)

  • Es verdaderamente admirable ver como está mujer tiene un ángel innato para enseñar.

Ojala, más gente tuviera la oportunidad de acceso a internet y aprender.

    Thanks Jennifer

  • The old school approach is fine. I know a good number of students who, despite the advantages of technology, still like to have a book in hand instead of constantly peering at a computer screen. It's also quite likely that they have no problem with the good old chalkboard. I'm sure Natasha's progress will inspire others to learn with her. Good luck to her as she learns in this way.

  • thanks jeni

Good observation. You'll hear that I allow use of Russian when Natasha has a question and doesn't have enough English to make me understand her question. I respond in English and only use a little Russian for clarification when I feel it's necessary. I realize she doesn't understand all my words when I speak in sentences, but she understands my meaning and the main content is mastered. Little by little she'll understand me more and her questions will use more English. :)
