Women: Leaders of the World Economy
The largest growing economic force in the world isn't China or India—it's women. The earning power of women globally is expected to reach $18 trillion by 2014--a $5 trillion rise for current income. That is more than twice the estimated 2014 GDP of China and India combined.
Women are becoming more important in the global marketplace not just as workers, but also as consumers, entrepreneurs, managers, and investors. Making better use of women's skills is not just a matter of fairness. It is good, savvy business. The College of Engineering's Information Networking Institute will host a panel of women leaders in a forum designed to debate and discuss the powerful impact of women in the economy and their professional potential still unharnessed by many sectors of the global economy.
