Fiddle. Audio tracks are at http://www.myspace.com/nealpointon and http://www.myspace.com/trifolk
This was an early stage of learning one of his favourite reels; better versions are elsewhere on this account. Neal Pointon was 12 years old at the time.

  • how long has neal been playing?

  • 5 years.

  • wow you're good lol im a dancer myself you should look to see if you can play at feisanna (our competitions) we need more fiddle players in the world :D

  • Wrong continent otherwise Im sure he would give it a go

  • great technique neal ... I would find it very hard to play like that not having developed any recognisable style when I was younger.

best wishes for the future ....if I were your age I would be checking out a zeta jazz MIDI violin :)

  • Out of my price range, im afraid. Anyway, I prefer traditional playing. I have got a 10 yr old Yamaha electric which I run thgrough effects for fun.

  • It's pretty good, but make sure you add more of a beat at the beginning. It was hard to tell you were playing a reel at first. Just go with some strong down bows, and you'll have it nailed =)

  • Ye did a great job boyo. It's traditionally the song played at a farewell party for someone leaving Ireland. But in America it became the last song played at Wakes. (irish funerals).

    Had my foot tapping.

  • good!

  • Sounds very good! A touch fast, perhaps, but good nonetheless. Keep up the good work.
