Hogan's FrankenPike !

I just got back From a fishing camp in Maine called Castle Island Camps. If you like beautiful lakes, good food and BIG fish I highly recommend this place. My old friend,Kenny Hogan caught the 30" 6lb Pike you are about to see on 6/7/07. It took over 30 minutes out of the water for this fish to finally die. I couldn't believe my eyes when 10 minutes after stringing it up and putting it back in the water FrankenPike came BACK to life. Many thanks to the Rice family, Dock Master George, and our meal time friends, Bob and John. Special thanks to Dock Master Extrordinaire, Luke for claening and filleting this beast. Extra special thanks to me for netting FrankenPike, and for administering the sedatives to Kenny. I thought he was going to have a heart attack !!!

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, and this is one of the greatest places to express it. Here's what happened: We caught a lot of fish in the two days we were there. We let all of them back in the water except this one. We brought it in, the camp cleaned and filleted it, froze it and three weeks later we ate it. It was delicious. You should try it Sleaz-O.

You are a very lucky young man to have spent time at Castle Islnd Camps. I'm more than three times your age and I just found out about it this year ! Thanks for your info on pike life out of the water. I thought I was seeing things when I saw FrankenPike come "back to life". I guess it happens all the time. I'll live and learn, -Bolo

Nice catch! I fished Messalonskee last summer. I caught a lot of pike just nothing real big.

By definition a beast has four legs. A fish, therefore cannot be a beast. You however have proven that your are an uneducated dweeb.If it wasn't for Burger King you'd probably starve.

To catch a pike takes skill. Try it sometime.

I fed four people with that pike and it was delicious. It was a lot of fun too.

Actualy, fish cannot live for 6 hours out of the water.when you see a fish "come back to life" you are actualy watching its reflexes. Much like when a person gets a spinal injury.

The fish is infact dead, what you are seeing are its muscle spasms. fish do this when you clean them if they have been dead for hours.\

That is a nice sized pike. Next time you go up there try keeping a few smaller ones(20-25 inches) they taste better, and have less mercury in them.
