http://bit.ly/bo8UIu - 2010 INTERIOR DESIGN TRENDS - part 2 - Rays of Light - Bring light into your room with a vivid yellow. Again the polka dots are repeated in two different sizes.
@MiranUT Yep, it really does depend upon the individual. I do, in fact. :) But I can completely understand why the color (and the vibrant decor shown here) wouldn't be right for you. I love shoji! I've got a valance over Venetian blinds--which I'm actually trying to find a good replacement for, because I HATE the amount of dust they accumulate, even though they allow you to control the amount of natural light nicely. D: Bah. Maybe some sort of shade, or something...
@mktillg - It does boil down to personal tastes, doesn't it. Do you sleep well and feel rested in the morning? I'm light sensitive and would never be able to sleep in such a bright room. I have shoji in my bedroom, which are great in the day, but fortunately there are shutters that come down for nighttime use otherwise too much light would come through.
Yellow in the bedroom? No way! Big mistake - unless you want to argue with your lover/spouse - or you never sleep in there and it's just for show. Yellow is not a good color for interiors. It's scientifically proven that yellow causes more arguments and makes babies cry more. Designers should know this! Try blues, greens or even purples in the bedroom. For brighter living rooms, kitchens or dinning rooms creams, reds or oranges are great.
yellow wall decoration was too much, a contrast modern art was more suitable.
