Synopsis!
After many years, MacKenzie Scott is pardoned from prison, but his wife is already involved with another man. Nevertheless, he travels incognito to his family's town. There he befriends his daughter Victoria, who doesn't recognize him, and encourages her musical abilities.
Plot!
A mother of two adolescents, who believe their father is dead but is actually serving time in prison, is about to marry a man of substantial means, only in the best interest of her children, when she learns that their father, who has been pardoned, has returned to the community. He has often urged her to remarry. He is back, using an assumed name, in order to see his children without divulging his identity.
Great song, great voice. As a kid I saw this movie and loved it. Now, though the song and her voice still are inspiring, the film is soapy, but still overlooking the obvious poor writing of reasons why the father could not reclaim his love it has nostalgic appeal for me of a simpler time and a simple innocent plot. If they brought it back, rewritten and directed, with a young lady with a similar voice it could be a winner.

It is very nice to hear Gloria Warren singing Always in my Heart from the Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona, that is a beautifull song and in her voice, very very sweet.

Walter Huston? Wasn't he too old in those days to be a romantic leading man?
