CLICKABLE time index links in description. This was a march on 11/17, otherwise known as #N17, a day of action called for by #OWS. HUGE numbers gathered at #occupyboston, which was accompanied by the infamous megaphone truck, which is not an #occupyboston truck, and I don't personally like because it fosters vertical leadership and not horizontal decentralized action. But that's fine, whatever, they're on our side too :). The march started as someone on the megaphone truck started megaphoning ( 1:04 ) WHOSE STREETS? OUR STREETS, and I got a full picture of the sheer number of people who were hitting the streets -- somewhere between 2000 and 5000 people.
This is the first march I've ever been on that had bag pipes. You know things are heading in the right direction when your marches are being led by men in kilts playing bag pipes ( 7:24 ). We marched up Atlantic Ave to the Washington St bridge, where a large group of maybe 500 - 1000 were waiting for us ( 9:15 ), where a battalion of riot police were waiting for us ( 10:20 ) to prevent us from proceeding onto the bridge. Which may have been for the better, since the bridge is in such a state of disrepair I couldn't help imagining the entire #occupyboston movement ending as 10,000 people fell to their cold watery deaths as the bridge gave out. After some rallying and street blocking, along with a large drunk heckler ( 10:55 ), we marched on past a fleet of police wagons that made everyone uncomfortable (12:27 ).
We marched past the Bank of America headquarters in Boston, and shamed it ( 14:40 ).
And of course, no march is complete without the people of Boston chanting for revolution ( 15:00 ).
An amazing march.
There is an article in the Boston Herald on how the occupy scum tried to intimidate a report from expressing her freedom of the press rights.
They don't want reports on the violence and hate that these people exhibt.
The occupiers are too lazxy to get a job or take a bath.
