New technology in the US is helping a seven-year-old achieve his dream of attending school. Devon Carrow has allergies which means coming into contact with others could seriously endanger his health. With the help of a WiFi-powered robot, he's now able to mix with his classmates. Al Jazeera's Scott Heidler reports from Buffalo, New York.

How will he survive? He can't live his whole life like that. What about when he goes to college or wants a job? Hmm well maybe it could work.. lol I hope it does for his sake.

This is defnatelly one of the few things that are going to be needed for "handicaped" people. But i'm still wondering what other pratical uses they are going to come up with in robotics. This seems to be one of the few thats is sweeping the world at the moment. I still hope that it dose come around. A lot of people will more than likelly need it.

lolol, trying to call me stupid after I made you look stupid?! Fail, you don't have a clue how old I am. One thing is certain though, if I'm younger than why than why can I spell 2nd grade words better?

I would ask why people would dislike this video, but I'm not even going to bother. It's nice to see a principal that is really dedicated to giving every student a chance. Also, I don't think a lot of schools would be willing to shell out 5 grand for this type of device~~or have the funds to do so. I know some schools have issues with just providing up-to-date textbooks for their kids.

Some people work for themselves and by themselves independently. Phone support line worker, online chat support, lots more. He needs to learn and count..... not everything is about a job, he needs common knowledge.

Not quite, the 5000 dollar unit is still expensive for most schools in states like arkansas. But I think value engineering can easily bring this price down significantly. As an engineer myself I would think it wont be a big challenge, just the scope of market utility has to be changed a bit.
