The Red Sea Environmental Centre (RSEC) is a young, private science and conservation institute. It was originated in 2003 (former name: Sinai Environmental Center) and is nowadays a non-profit association, registered in Austria. The RSEC combines two marine biological stations, one at the southeast coast of the Sinai in Dahab and a second in El-Quseir on the egyptian mainland.

@ramose83 yes, accommodation at RSEC station is only available for RSEC researchers. RSEC has a small office at Radisson Blu Resort and offers some trips for the hotel guests, but im not sure, if the station will be in march-april open.

@brad82 thanks a million for such a quick respond. I realy didn't expect to receive a reply so fast. We are planing our journey in March April so I shall start organizing the whol journey now. I shall check the Radisson Blu Resort; we only wanted to avoid toursit' style way of life :-).
You are writing that the RSEC has an own station which only opens in summer - if I get you right - but I gather that accommodation is only available for the own researcher? Kind regards

@ramose83 The Red Sea Environmental Centre station in El Quseir is now (in winter) closed, but you can try out the hotel Radisson Blu Resort, El Quseir - its really nice place to stay.

Very nice thank you. I am planing to combine a research stay in cairo with a one week holiday in al Qusair. We (my husband and I) need a real quite place to get some rest and ejoy some tranquility. Is there some one out there to help us and give us a tip how to get there and where to stay? Thanks
