@soundvoiceofreason Rick wasn't "randomly talking" about it. He was saying that people who are gay should be open about it. Being open doesn't mean you talk about it all the time. I'm an agnostic and dislike organized religion. I don't randomly talk about it, but if the situation calls for it, I will. That's what he means.

@tamama150 No, the boy I punched in the hall today slapped the ass of my girlfriend.

The boy you punched in the hall today. Committed suicide a few minutes ago. That girl you called a slut in class today. She's a virgin. The boy you called lame. He has to work every night to support his family. That girl you pushed down the other day. She's already being abused at home. That girl you called fat. She's starving herself. The old man you made fun of cause of the ugly scars. He fought for our country. The boy you made fun of for crying. His mother is dying. You think you know them.

@soundvoiceofreason ...*sigh*...
In the context of the video, please. He's saying that people who are gay should be vocal about it. I'll be vocal about being atheist if the situation calls for it, especially when telling others to do the same. Is there something you're not getting?

@RedDaVincy because being gay doesn't mean you have to go around talking about being gay. I don't think he hides it at all and is very open about it.
Broadcasters who are heterosexual don't randomly start talking about being heterosexual. Broadcasters who are religious or atheist don't randomly start talking about those things either. Being anything doesn't mean you have to go around waving a banner about it. It's just what you are and that's nobody's business.

So why doesn't Rick openly talk more about the fact that he's gay, instead of hiding it all the time?

@warmfuzzytoque It goes against the number 1 troll ever (who ever wrote the bible).

@Shoots1978 And that isn't hypocrisy. What someone else does in their own time, especially when it effects you in zero ways, isn't bullying. The logic behind what you said is so stupid. If they had never picked on said person, then that person would still be alive. Someone doesn't go home crying from school because they went and had a fun day, it is because they were bullied. Hence why the bullies are in fact responsible for his death. I'm an engineer, not a religious nutbar, intelligence is key
Take this advice from someone old and wise. Think of how many celebrities talk about being bullied in school. The reason? They stood out from the crowd. They were different than the rest. And that very same quality was why they became successful in their later lives (along with education and hard work). Standing out was why they were bullied; standing out was why they had success. So take heart if it happens to you. You may be destined for great things...
