I'm 6'3", and I have a 2007 900 Classic. The bike is a perfect fit. I would go bigger if your gonna have a passenger though. My wife is about 130 lbs, and she said it's uncomfortable for her to ride on the back. Go for the Vulcan 2000. More power, better ride and way more aftermarket parts for it.
