iPhone/iPod touch OS 3.0 beta 1 First Look

I installed iPhone OS 3.0 beta 1 on my iPod touch 2G. Because the iPod touch 2G has a faster CPU running at 533 MHZ unlike the original iPod touch that ran at 400 MHZ. Both the iPhone and iPhone 3G have a CPU running at 412 MHZ. The iPhones CPU is capable of running at 620 MHZ, how ever has been underclocked by Apple to prevent short battery life. The iPhone OS 3.0 has new features like MMS, Cut Copy and Paste, Stereo Bluetooth, Push notification, In-App Purchases, Spotlight, Landscape keyboard and more. Everything works on the iPhone 3G. On the Original iPhone, MMS and Stereo Bluetooth wont work due to hardware limitations. However everything else will work. The iPod touch 2G will also get 3.0! Everything but MMS will work. You will be able to connect a set of bluetooth stereo headphones because the iPod touch has the chip built in to it. So now you can listin to music Wirelessly
The Original iPod touch, however wont get stereo bluetooth because the chip is not built in. I tested 3.0 on my iPod touch 2G, and there was some laggyness in the keyboard. However most of everything else was very responsive. I didnt have very many apps crash. The ones that did were third party ones downloaded from the Apple App Store. 3.0 seemed more stable compared to the original final public 2.0 release that shipped on July 11, 2008. I downloaded 3.0 off the web as Im NOT A MEMBER OF THE IPHONE DEVELOPER PROGRAM. So if I want to sync I have to disconnect from the internet.
IPhone/iPod touch 3.0 will ship this summer and will be FREE for ALL iPhone 3G and Original iPhone owners. 3.0 will be also released for the iPod touch, both generations. So if you own the Original iPod touch or the new iPod touch you will be able to upgrade to 3.0 for $9.95! ! Please Subscribe !

Don't get antagonized by the people whining about your voice, bad videoing or stuff like that, they are the people who feel awkward about themselves and thus feel the need to take it out on others. We all know you're better than that : )

@Vomor Thanks. I do take the feed back into consideration though. Just look back at reviews like the Pavilion D1000, and ZV6000. They are terrible reviews. But if people just say my voice is gay, or weird, what should I do? I can't just change it. It sounds a bit different off camera though.

It's good that you listen to what people say of course. Technical stuff or videoing skills are something you can always work on if you feel like it but your voice is something you have no control over and thus shouldn't be criticized. Anyways even if someone finds it's annoying, who cares! :P
