Is this fun or is it like walking through the snow in your regular boots? What is the advantage of this? I notice the foot flips like a flip flop. Is this inhibiting?

IMO People should go to snow shoe lessons even if they're already doing it. it's a reason to go out into serene Nature for a day & usually entails a nice stop somewhere for hot soup & fresh bread.
+ there's Nature tips, meeting like minded people on what's usually a scenic walk in a new place.
A course on how to make snow angels might be good for same reason. more fun than moaning about it on youtube neway ;p

If you can walk you can snowshoe. I've seen a 5 year old strap on a little pair of snowshoes and figure out how to walk properly in less than 10 minutes. Great way to expand your hiking/camping seasons, and the best part is theres never anyone in the woods but you and the animals in the middle of winter.
