Student volunteers from the F.H. King Student Farm grow and give away local produce at Harvest Handouts on East Campus Mall. The F.H. King Student Farm also collaborates with groups such as Slow Foods UW, a student organization dedicated to promoting "good, clean, and fair food."

Great vid, guys! Loving it all the way from Montana!
If there are any groovy individuals who are interested in replicating our 1,000 New Gardens Montana model of promoting organic veg gardening at the household level, let me know - we'll pass on the handbook for organizers and get a new chapter launched! It is quite fun stuff!

In late September, I had the privilege of joining the FHK group for #HarvestHandouts on UW-Madison's east campus mall. Seeing a line of over 100 students queued-up to share the free, fresh bounty instantly made it the most inspiring #localfood event I've witnessed this year. Well done, FHK. This ol' Badger---and "recovering" food scientist---is very proud of your effort to practice and promote sustainability (and sensibility) in UW-Madison's campus food system. On, Wisconsin!
