Monte Carlo is an upcoming American romantic comedy film directed by Tom Bezucha. Nicole Kidman, Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan are producing the film for 20th Century Fox and Walden Media, New Regency Productions, Regency Enterprises. It is loosely based on the novel Headhunters by Jules Bass. It began production in Budapest on May 5, 2010. Monte Carlo stars Selena Gomez, Katie Cassidy and Leighton Meester as three friends posing as wealthy socialites in Monaco. The film will be released on July 1, 2011. The offical trailer was released on April 8, 2011 and will be attached to Rio.

Plot
Three young girls (Katie Cassidy , Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester) use their savings for a dream trip to Paris, which turns out to be a big disaster. When they decide to take a break from their lousy tour and sneak into the lobby of a 5-star hotel, one of the girls (Grace) is mistaken for a spoiled British heiress by the name of Cordelia.

Casting

In March 2010, it was announced Selena Gomez has been cast as one of the film's leads following the script's rewrite. For the role, Gomez spent several weeks learning to play polo and getting her British accent right. Leighton Meester also negotiated a deal to one of the leads in March, and Katie Cassidy was cast as Emma in April. French actor Pierre Boulanger is making his English-speaking feature debut .
