The F-5E's were painted in the Old Soviet Block fighter colors and the F-20 Tiger-sharks (I think) was black w/ red markings for look-a-like Chinese...

As a Survival Equipment & Parachute Tech I worked on the F-5E Tiger II's @ Clark AFB Philippines in 1978. Watched them dog fight with the old Phantom F-4's...quite the show.

This a great documentary I just wish they used footage from a F-14 for Jays "hero Shot" angle instead of an FA-18C since the 1v1 engagement was between a F-14B & a F-5E; God know they had the access to shoot whatever they needed.

My nephew is in the air force academy. A pilot he knew took him up in an F15. I say knew because the pilot went to train in Fallon and lost his relationship to the ground and crashed.
