That jam at the end, man.

They really don't sound like Cap'n Jazz to me. I like em both.

i used to think algernon was just OK, but i've really grown to respect them. they're a really fun band that also has good musicianship, cool lyrics, and a lot of passion. just like the original emo.
for some reason i think it's cool that anyone could make a song where they yell "shuffle, sway, pick up things and look underneath them" at the top of their lungs

@noremac4343 and your a fool.

@pancakerepairman who play original songs? with more melodic vocals, catchier choruses, less eclectic song structure, vocal harmonies, and in general a cleaner sound? I'm a huge fan of the Kinsellas' work but Algernon is a different band. You could even say that they are part of a genre "revival." But they are not a Cap'n Jazz tribute
-
wow, these guys are a total cap'n jazz rip off
-
@pancakerepairman No.
-
@pancakerepairman they're obviously influenced heavily by the lyrical and vocal styles but other than that i see nothing. tell me, other than pop bullshit, what band isn't influenced by the work of tim kinsella et al.?

they sound nothing like cap'n jazz, algernon is way better
I'm not hugging you no more because you hug back like a cactus.
Out come rosy red cheeks and I'm springing leaks.
So, shuffle, sway, pick up things and look underneath them. (4x)
Trail off and disappear.
Kids grow up and they all have one.
Suburban folk-lore. Legend of failure.
A diamond in the rough polished up to be an immaculate piece of shit.
I hope you make it.
