I used to work in aircraft manufacturing, thats a big part of the economy in Wichita. The problem with those places is that they usually layoff alot of people when business isnt good. I got laid off from Boeing, and then Cessna, and thats when I got into the trash business, back in 1999. I make as good or better than the manufacturing jobs, and I like hauling trash much better.
I currently make about $60,000 a year. Not everyone makes that much though.

As of now, what kind of spares truck do you use if your normal truck is temporary out of service? Have you ever used a rear loader before?

We still have some of the old International/Mcneilus trucks, those are the spares. I have ran RL trucks before, I used to work with one before I worked at Waste Connections. Occaisionally I drive a RL when my truck is down and no spare sideloaders are available, but that happens very rarely.
