This is a video of me walking through Leatherman's Cave, on the Mattatuck Trail in Watertown, CT. The Leatherman was a 19th century hermit who walked endlessly in a loop between the Hudson and Connecticut Rivers. He did this 360 times between 1858 and 1889. He was named for the 60 pound leather clothes which he always wore. Along his "route" he would stop at caves and spend the night. His body was found at the Saw Mill Woods cave in 1889. His caves are supposedly haunted by his spirit. Many people have claimed to see his ghost in the caves. This particular cave is his most popular one.
its one of his caves on the bottom of jacobs ladder.........the other are in the bog where there is fresh water in a whole in the bottom of the cave....ive research it since my great grandfather told me about feeding him from reynolds bridge road.....read the book........that i wrote.....you can find it in any library in new england ...the leatherman
