Lupus Chest Pains (4-13-10)

So basically I have been getting these random chest pains! If you guys have had this or have any questions let me know! Sorry for the extremely quick video!

I'm experiencing this right now , but I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I'm 17 & have 4 yrs with it now , I'm a bit scared because it's my first time going through this & I can't sleep at all /: I'm sitting up at the moment because that's what seems to help out . The difference is that the sharp pain is coming from my right side of my chest & I do not know why ,. I can't take deep breaths because it hurts so bad . I'll see how I get through the night .

I've been getting that too! Mine has been for 3 days off/on and can last minutes at a time. I have undifferentiated connective tissue disease and we're trying to figure out this latest SHARP chest pain that hurts with breathing is too. Mine even wakes me up at night. Hopefully, yours has resolved by now since this is from 2010!!:)

When it happens, breathe shallow to avoid further pain.

It might be Mitral Valve Prolaspe -I was thought to have that (as it is super similar to what your describing) but my chest pains are purely from the Lupus that is festering around my chest cavity, and inside my musculoskelotal system.

MVP is when your heart valve gets stuck when trying to pump blood because your valve is overly sized-so it catches sometimes.

It is diagnosed through an ultrasound

OMG! I get that! I don't have lupus either(well as far as i know i don't).My mom told me it was normal :O Should I go see a doctor? I also have pains in my kidneys and my right hip.I'm only 16.

I got the chest pains that ur talkin' about. I'm 35 and i 've had those chest pains since i was 12. My GOD they HURT!

@bigsanfer32 I know exactly what you are experiencing. I go through that now. Its almost like once a week i end up in emergency for them to tell me that they can't help me. but they think its a case of bad indiegestion. lol they suck. but it does feel like at first, a loss of breath, sharp pains in the chest and if you get a little relief for even just a minute, it comes back worse than when it started. rite? Or even like air bubbles caught in your chest that moves to your throat.

next day. It's very dehabilitating. So, about the chest pains...if it becomes severe enough I would go see a doctor. Since SLE involves all your major organs we have to be very careful when we experience symptoms of the possibility of it attacking our organs, especially the heart, kidneys, and brain.
