Raj (continued): For the LEDs I basically hooked them up in 4 separate channels and powered them with an American DJ T20 light controller. The synchronization to the music is all done manually by me bu the device does have an option to chase to music via a built in microphone.
Oh yeah, for the laser beam to be visible, you will need a fog machine which you can find online for abotu $30-$50, not too shabby

Raj: The setup is rather cheap. The laser was purchased on ebay and imported from China for about $250 or so. It's the only way to get a laser above 5 miliwatts without requiring a variance permit, which can run very expensive.
The light tubes are actually those LED strips that you see at IKEA. They're about $50 for 4 feet which I needed 16 feet of it. You may be able to find the LEDs elsewhere for cheaper.
