Erin reads one of her favorite excerpts from Stephen Colbert's "I Am America (And So Can You!)", where Colbert articulates his opinion on the superiority of the Roman Catholic Church.

  • LOAD OF SHIT!

  • @Cajaquarius - Indeed this could apply to the many religions ot religious groups who claim yo be holier than thou.

  • @goinghomesomeday1 I could point to the protestant groups like the Ku Klux Klan if you really want to start in on those kinds of comments. I guess the Klan proves that not even all Christians are Christians.

  • St. Triduana of Scotland is the patron saint of the insane. When a pagan admired her eyes, she plucked them out & presented them to him impaled on on a skewer

  • lol funny thing is.... none of this is actually false :P peter IS literally a rock for the church, and yea, we have specialized saints... colberts just giving a very childlike description, like how i saw catholicism when i was 10 or so :)

  • Wow, I cannot believe people took that seriously on here. It was a comedy writing, it wasn't some sort of real commentary. I think it was a bit offensive, but I'll forgive him. Lol at prots claiming the Church was founded in like 300, though!

  • Thank you for reading an excerpt from Stephen Colbert book. Stephen should read up on the history of the Roman Catholic church first.

Jesus founded a "Christian" Church. The Roman church followed at least 200 years after Jesus' death.

Stephen Colbert seems to have a very narrow and one-sided point of view.

Jesus was not a Roman Catholic. Neither were His followere.

Joseph and Mary were of the Jewish faith as was Jesus.

  • @dacanale --You clame ""All Catholics are Christians""!!!

I don't think so. What about the IRA! There's a terrorist group who are all Catholics, who go to Holy Mass on Sunday's and continuing their murderous campaign on Monday's. All Catholics in my way of thinking are not Christian.

  • the lone green line on the side of the screen at the beginning reminded me or the "My name is Mud" music video by Primus.

  • @dacanale Yes, and all men and women are humans.
