Third Floor Studio Is specialty animation shop in LA that focuses on pre-visualizing productions for film tv and games. In this video Chris Edwards the CEO walks us through the process they go through using Maya.
@umarkhan I'm not a user of Maya since I mostly do film editing, but I've watched my brother who is one of the founders at The Third Floor and yes you do build everything from the ground up.
cool insight into the workflow. thanks for sharing, this info would be very useful in a budget intensive production. Working out how many lighting rigs and camera track position 'before' the live action shoot would save a lot of cost.

Alright, Imma hit you up with all the steps and settings for this:
(grab a piece of paper and a pen to wright along)
-First; you do a little like this
-a tiny bit of that
-shake it
- and finished!...if you have any more questions on particular details...just look at it the next day, the answer is right there!
No thanx!

explain to me this... do you have to build everything in Maya? the characters? the setting? or are they selected from a options that you modify?
If you have to build everything... how do you go about doing this?
