@PatrickRoss45 Clearly, your video is not very convincing. I see that it's managed to rack up six dislikes in less than 24 hours. Perhaps if you removed the snide commentary and ominous background music, Canadians would be less likely to see through your propaganda.

She has been working for and towards NPD goals since forever. The rest is just noise. Everybody's done things that can be easily warped on national television. She's a fighter and she's a progressist. I prefer to vote for someone like that, and I did.
**The (temporary) opposition leader is now of my riding, yay!**

She thinks she can just flash that stupid shit eating grin and everything will go away. Quebec's influence is declining, the ROC doesn't give a shit about Quebec anymore. If you want to leave, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. Oh yea and you can keep Trudeau JR

@brucem00 I'm going to try to explain this to you slowly so you can actually understand it. This is not hypothetical:Nycole Turmel endorsed the Bloc Quebecois when there was another option for her in terms of policy: the NDP. She did this while holding a membership in Quebec Solidaire.
Not hypothetical. Turmel seems to have a preference for separatist parties over federalist parties. It's undeniable, no matter how much you clearly want to deny it.
-
@brucem00 Some Bloc policies intersect with the NDP, sure. Is separatism one of them?
-
@PatrickRoss45 This is the Nycole Turmel situation. A majority of Bloc policies intersect with those of the NDP. This is why so many Quebeckers were able to cross the isle during the past election. When the NDP had little support in Quebec, it would be very reasonable for someone opposed to separation to vote for the Bloc, when they value the rest of the Blocs policies so greatly.
-
I'm sorry you can't get your wrap around this. Try this hypothetical.
Ron Paul: Extreme laissez-faire conservative. Opposes abortion and universal healthcare.
I could see myself for voting for RP. I like some of his ideas: not ALL of them.
I support his anti-war policies, his auditing of the fed, his opposition to the drug war and his respect for the constitution.
I oppose his anti-abortion, pro-DOMA, and free-market policies.
The policies I -do- support, I support strongly.
-
@brucem00 With the Bloc Quebecois, it's not merely a matter of policy. It's a matter of purpose.
I'll type this in all-caps. Hopefully that will help you understand it better:
WHEN ONE JOINS A POLITICAL PARTY, ONE ENDORSES AT THE VERY LEAST THE PURPOSE FOR THAT PARTY TO EXIST. THE BQ'S PURPOSE IS TO PROMOTE SEPARATISM.
-
@PatrickRoss45 Though their core purpose is solely to advance separatism, they do have other values. Like I said: social services, social justice, welfare, healthcare, environmentalism, sexual and reproductive rights, peacekeeping, funding for post-secondary education, keeping the gun registry, fighting against growing poverty, affordable housing .... I obviously oppose separation, but were I a Quebecker I might not actually have a problem with voting for the bloc.
-
@PatrickRoss45 It holds water. To identify with one party does not mean that you're going to agree with every single one of their policies.
Also, I don't see the purpose of your message here. So, she was a member of the Bloc. WHO CARES? I don't think any reasonable person would think that, if she were PM, she would advance the separation of Quebec, or allow for Quebec to separate. This video is just a pointless ton of hyperbole.

@brucem00 A lot of Canadians are concerned that the NDP would have a separatist as its iinterim leader. If you don't like that, get a new leader.
