A flock of wild green parakeets in Bridgeport, CT. the story goes that they escaped from the Barnum and Bailey circus (P.T. Barnum had his home here in Bridgeport), and have been wild ever since. Although these ones seem to have mutated to an abnormally large size...

  • they're Quaker parrots. we have them around where i live in chicago! they r a bit bigger than parakeets, and make giant nests that all fit together into one colony. you can actually buy them at some pet stores.

  • They are also called "Monk Parakeets". Several colonies live in some of the larger cities like New York City, Chicago, and Cincinnati!! They can withstand the cold very well.

  • Thoes are not parakeets they are Quaker Parrots

  • Really weird seeing them walk on the ground, & so many of them. They're around here too, but not so many of them, & I haven't ever managed to get close enough to the nest to really learn much about them. Neat birds, though. When they fly they always seem like a paper airplane someone put too big a coin in the nose of, but they manage to get where they're going, & come back, so good for them. Neat birds.

  • Woah! Who let the birds out! Oh man that was so corny lol!

  • @kpenguins48 ik! they r adorable! we have flocks of them around here, and it just started ff with a male and female! they've been here since b4 i was born.

  • @loverofmythology Quakers are illegal to keep as pets in New Jersey where I live because they adapt very well to the outside and can become invasive to native species. They are so cute!

  • Quaker parrots, eh? They were the wrong markings for budgies, anyway.

  • @Iranitas

    a really nice idea....gud luck...

  • wheres this at

  • They're normal sized quaker parakeets. Look puffed up due to cold. Parakeets have long tails. Parrots have short ones. Nice video.
